Major, worldwide market leader wishes to augment its existing team with an IT Application support engineer. This is a rare opportunity to join an extremely successful technology based organisation working in a high profile market. The successful candidate will: Provide a very high quality application support service to internal and external customers, by: · Answering customer queries in a timely fashion. · Resolving customer problems within times stated in SLA. · Troubleshooting both remotely and on-site. · Ensuring upgrades and installations are concluded successfully. · Liasing with other Engineers to share knowledge and cross-train. · Providing User-based training both internally and externally. Skills Required: · O*S and Software Application Support of large scale RDBMS based product. · UNIX administration, particularly Solaris. · MS Operating Systems administration including NT, 2000 + XP. · IIS. · Understanding of TCP*IP on Ethernet. Beneficial: ASP scripting and Perl. Other Requirements: · Excellent verbal and written communication. · Adaptable and aptitude for development of Consulting and Sales Support skills - requirements gathering and product demonstrations. · Ability and willingness to travel regularly. Up to 2 weeks away at a time. Average 2-8 days per month. Ideally this person will be an IT graduate with around two years of industry experience including any of the major software languages. Understanding of Programming and Database concepts is essential.
